Grant for Safer Children in Gonzales
Free bicycle helmets and knee/elbow pads

Firefighter/Police
Officer/Explorer Adviser John Amaro coordinated
the efforts of several groups to improve child safety
in Gonzales.
This effort was funded through the Office of Traffic
Safety.
Each child was personnally fitted and agreed to wear
the helmets always when riding. Knee pads were only
given if the child agreed to wear then whenever skateboarding.
